I also wanted to bring to your attention how deeply troubling US Secretary of Defense Peter Hegseth's recent speech in Singapore was. It is a shocking plan for war with China. He falsely claimed that the “threat from China is imminent”. China absolutely disputed Hegseth’s remarks. It is crucial that we prevent a US-NATO war with China that the US will provoke through Taiwan like it did in Ukraine. We need to do what we can now to use people-to-people diplomacy with China to prevent a war.

In that speech, Hegseth also shamefully said "America First certainly does not mean America alone. Especially alongside so many of our allies, model allies like Poland, Israel, and the Gulf States, the Baltic States. And it does not mean ignoring the world."

*"Israel is a model ally" – an apartheid state that is armed by the West and is committing a genocide against the Palestinian people and bombing other countries with impunity is a "model ally" for the US. The US is Canada’s closest ally and we are going along with the US on its wars and militarism and Canada has done nothing to sanction or stop Israel or make peace in Ukraine.
