A friendly reminder about the Grief Walk for Gaza every Saturday at 11am, meeting at the Kitchener Market.

ATTENTION! The Parliamentary Budget Office just released its report “The Fiscal Implications of Meeting the NATO Military Spending Target”, on October 30, 2024. The PBO estimated that it would cost $81 billion annually (a doubling in 8 years) to meet the NATO GDP target of 2% by 2032.

Canada CANNOT afford this. It means risking every social and environmental program! It is a threat to our youth, future generations and the environment and climate.
 This is why it is so urgent that we call for Canada to withdraw from NATO and for dissolution of this US-led, nuclear-armed military alliance that is impoverishing countries and causing endless war. Canada out of NATO!

A free public event to discuss the war in Ukraine, the genocide in Gaza, Canada’s roles in these crises and what we can do for peace and justice. We’ll also talk about what the government and mainstream media are ignoring and what you need to know. All welcome.

Dimitri Lascaris is a lawyer based in Montreal. He is also a freelance journalist and the host of a YouTube program called "Reason2Resist". Over the past two years, Dimitri has reported from and conducted interviews in West Asia, Venezuela, Moscow and Crimea. Dimitri will discuss his latest reporting in the West Bank and Lebanon.

Tamara is a PhD candidate at the Balsillie School of International Affairs at Wilfrid Laurier University. She is a member of the Canadian Voice of Women for Peace, Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom-Canada and fellow with the Canadian Foreign Policy Institute. Tamara will talk about her recent trips to the climate summits, Eastern Europe, Russia and Washington D.C. related to the war in Ukraine & NATO and possibilities for peace, climate and international cooperation.
