Sara Flounders

Sara Flounders has been active in peoples' movements for change for over 50 years. She helps coordinate the International Action Center in New York City, the SanctionsKill Campaign, and works actively with United National Antiwar Coalition.

Carlos Martinez

Carlos Martinez is an independent researcher and political activist from London, Britain. His first book, ‘The End of the Beginning: Lessons of the Soviet Collapse’, was published in 2019 by LeftWord Books. His main area of research is the construction of socialist societies, past and present.
William Dere

William Ging Wee Dere is a member of The Canada Files’ Advisory Board. He writes on geopolitics in support of people’s movements against US domination. He is the author of the award-winning “Being Chinese in Canada, The Struggle for Identity, Redress and Belonging.”

Tamara Lorincz

A PhD candidate in Global Governance at Balsillie, she was awarded the Rotary International World Peace Fellowship. Tamara is a member of the Canadian Pugwash Group, the Canadian Voice of Women for Peace and WILPF. She is currently on the international board of Global Network Against Nuclear Power and Weapons in Space.
Kevin Mackay

A professor at Mohawk College in Hamilton, Kevin researches, writes, and teaches on the subjects of civilization collapse, political transformation, and global systemic risk. In 2017 he published Radical Transformation: Oligarchy, Collapse, and the Crisis of Civilization. He is currently working on a new book, and serves as VP at Mohawk's OPSEU Local 240.

Don Mclean

Don McLean is a community activist in Hamilton. He helped lead the effort to preserve the Red Hill Valley parkland from an expressway twenty years ago. He co-founded Environment Hamilton and Citizens at City Hall and remains active with both. The climate emergency is the main focus of his current activity.
The panelists will also be joined by the HCSW's own Ken Stone.

Ken Stone is a veteran anti-war activist in Hamilton, Ontario. He’s Treasurer of the Hamilton Coalition To Stop The War, former coordinator of the Cross-Canada Campaign to Free Meng Wanzhou, former Central Committee member of the Global March to Jerusalem, and present Steering Committee member of the Syria Support Movement. He comments regularly on Press TV and RT. In April, 2016, Ken travelled to Damascus to observe the Syrian parliamentary elections and wrote a booklet, entitled “Defiant Syria.”
