Hello everyone,

I support the "stop the eviction" encampment letter and am willing to add my name.

Bob, if KW Peace or WR Nonviolence can sign on that would be great.

Also, I wanted to let everyone know that the Canada-Wide Peace & Justice Network is having Days of Action to “Stop the Weapons, Stop the War, Stop NATO” from June 24-June 30 to coincide with the NATO Summit in Madrid, Spain.

NATO is the main instigator of the war in Ukraine = NATO expansion to Russia’s border, NATO’s subversion of the Minsk Agreements and NATO’s training and arming extreme right wing Ukrainian security forces that have shot and shelled the ethnic Russian Ukrainians in the Donbass over the past 8 years are the drivers of this current war. NATO, arms dealers and oil companies are benefitting from it. The NATO Secretary General said the war will be fought for years. NATO wars have resulted in chaos and devastation: Libya, Afghanistan and now Ukraine.

Canada supported the coup in Ukraine in 2014, pushed NATO membership in Ukraine, set up a military training mission in Ukraine despite the Minsk Agreements against foreign forces, sending weapons to Ukraine instead of using diplomacy and calling for a negotiated settlement.

I will have a rally in the Waterloo Public Square from 4:30-5:30 pm on Tuesday, June 28 “Stop the Weapons, Stop the War, Stop NATO”. I will have big cards to sign to MPs. I hope you can join me! There are actions taking place across the country. Please retweet: https://twitter.com/TamaraLorincz/status/1538930953837547520

In solidarity for peace, earth and justice,

KW Peace, WR Nonviolence and allied groups should absolutely stand behind this!

Thanks Tamara for raising your concerns about the eviction of residents living in the encampment on Victoria. I'm hoping that KW Peace groups will read this and consider signing on to the letter. If you have any questions please follow-up directly with GroundUp. Thanks!

Hello all,

The Unsheltered Campaign's Coalition Against Removing Encampments (CARE) has drafted a public letter about the impending eviction of the Victoria/Weber encampment and the many smaller encampments under threat across our region.

We are releasing the letter next week. Can you confirm your group's interest in being a signatory by Monday? If you have questions please join our discussion at the Unsheltered Campaign meeting on Monday at 5:30pm.

Please do not share letter publicly until we have confirmed the final list of signatories.
