Hello KWPeace Group Organizers! It has been a very long time since our 
last potluck planning meeting. My apologies for that, I've been 
volunteering beyond my capacity...

In fact, this message is not to tell you about an upcoming KWPeace 
Potluck Planing Meeting, but, somewhat related, the opening of the 
long-awaited Civic Hub!

At a KWPeace Potluck Meeting in 2017 Trudy Beaulne from the Social 
Development Centre recognized that what we were doing as KWPeace was 
something SDCWR had long been wanting to do: Create a space and support 
facilities for many different community groups, the better for them to 
collaborate, expand beyond their particular areas of expertise, and have 
a space for meetings, presentations, and just getting things done. In 
November 2017 Trudy pulled together some 30 groups that were interested 
in this concept.

Sadly Trudy passed away before realizing this project, but Aleksandra 
Petrovic, current ED of the SDCWR has seen it through to this trial 
stage.  There are now some 40 neighbourhood associations, cultural 
groups, musical and theatre companies, technical groups, environmental 
activists, and, yes, peace and social justice groups ready to put almost 
two years of hard work to good use.

So, you're invited to come to the Civic Hub Soft Launch - Housewarming 
Potluck Party:
