Hello KW Peace friends!

I hope everyone is well on this beautiful sunny Friday!

This is a last minute notice but I wanted to let you know that the Canadian Peace Congress has a conference this Saturday in Toronto. Independent journalist Eva Bartlett is speaking on her reporting on the terrible war in Syria etc... Please see agenda and link below.

*Also, I was wondering if we are going to be meeting before Christmas? If so, please let me know.

I just spoke with Cesar of Project Ploughshares and he will be our speaker for the 2019 Symposium (depending on his schedule). He did a great presentation on nuclear weapons at the International Humanitarian Law conference last week.

By the way, the Peace Quest events in Kingston last weekend were fantastic! There was an inspiring conference "Imagining Peace" and a concert "The World Remembers". Please see my pictures here at Peace Quest, Paul Rogers and with Rev. James Lawson events in Waterloo: https://www.flickr.com/photos/tlorincz/albums

In case you missed it, Paul Rogers, Professor Emeritus of Peace Studies at the University of Bradford, gave an excellent interview about war, peace, arms trade, conversion etc... on CBC radio last Sunday - tune in if you missed it: https://www.cbc.ca/radio/thesundayedition/paul-rogers-on-what-it-takes-to-avoid-war-1.4908641

Dr. Rogers also mentioned this new initiative in the UK called "Rethinking Security" - check it out here: https://rethinkingsecurity.org.uk/ - what we need to do in Canada!

Thanks and have a great weekend!

Tamara
