Hello everyone,
My apologies if you have already received this announcement! You're invited to a double-bill of anti-war plays this Thursday, November 8th, Friday, November 9th, or Saturday, November 10th at 8pm.
This joint production (rated R) represents a pro-peace alternative to the November 11th centennial marking the end of the war that was supposed to "end all wars." The first play, "The Trojan Women" by Euripides, depicts the horrific impact on Troy's women and children of the Greek victory in the Trojan War. We'll also be performing the bawdy comedy, "Lysistrata" by Aristophanes. (I'm looking forward to acting in Lysistrata) This play shows Greek wives rebelling against their societal subjugation and securing peace by going on a sex strike against their constantly warring husbands. Richard Walsh, also from Alliance Against Poverty (AAP), is directing both plays.
These two ancient Greek, anti-war plays will be performed at Christ Church Waterloo (445 Anndale Rd, Waterloo), and you can order tickets through the church office: 519-885-4050 - make sure to call in the morning, as the office is closed in the afternoons. Tickets are $15 for Adults and $10 for Students. General Admission.
Peace and justice,
Nadine
