[KWPeace-groups] Invitation to meet Mike Schreiner, 22 March 2018

Hi everyone: On Thursday, 22 March 2018, Mike Schreiner, leader of the
Green Party of Ontario, will be coming to Kitchener on a Leadership
Tour, and to announce the Green Party's election platform.

Waterloo Greens are planning to host two events: The first is "Social
Innovation for Green Stakeholders", a discussion with local community
leaders to ask "What changes do you need to do what you do?"

I'd like to invite the Peace and Justice group leaders to bring forward
your ideas for improving the community, and to let Mike know what you
need from the provincial government to make it happen.  Your attendance
in no way aligns you with the Green Party, but provides an opportunity
to get your voice heard.

We'll have a number of discussion groups on topics such as poverty
elimination, supporting local businesses, and, of course, environmental
issues. Participants are asked to identify the different issues that
need to be addressed by the provincial government. Mike and his policy
team will take the notes and feedback from this session to learn about
specific local solutions.

Mike continues to hold the other parties' feet to the fire on several
issues and, even without yet holding a seat, he was integral in changing
election finance rules, and protecting local farm and water resources.

make it or not. Also, please pass on this invitation to any other
community leaders that want to provide input on social innovation.


After the discussion forum, I hope you'll be able to join us for the
second event, a social night with Mike and the local Green Party
candidates. That will start at 6:30pm at Abe Erb, the crafter brewery
and restaurant in Waterloo.  Mike has been a longtime champion for local
brewers to put them on equal footing with the large transnational
corporations.
