[KWPeace-groups] Community Groups Info Tables at PR4PR, Sat 17 Sep 2016 from 3pm to 4:30pm

Hi KW Peace Group Organizers: The Waterloo Region Greens are putting on
PR4PR -- Party Rally for Proportional Representation. PR4PR will take
place on Saturday, 17 September 2016 from 3:00pm to 4:30om in Carl Zehr
Square at Kitchener City Hall.

There will be speakers from different political parties and Fair Vote
Waterloo, followed by discussion groups at which anyone can contribute
to the submissions for the Special Committee for Electoral Reform.

In addition, we'd like to invite any community groups to staff an
information table set up around the Square. There's no cost if you
BYOTable, or we can rent one for you for $15.

if you'd like to participate.

Our current electoral system, First Past The Post, gives us one elected
representative who may not share our views. Having an electoral system
based on Proportional Representation gives a political voice to all
community groups. When all our votes count then the issues that affect
you and your community will be heard, because you'll have the
representation you voted for.

Community leaders can speak to the crowd about the way that the current
voting system has been detrimental for them, or how a Proportional
Representation system will benefit htem. There are a couple of 5 minute
speaking slots still available; please let Julia know if you'd like to
speak at the rally.
